Test Jerez – SBK. Día 3

Tercera jornada de entrenamientos en el circuito de Jerez. Las predicciones meteorológicas presentan una tormenta hacia las 13h con un 88% de posibilidades de que llueva, eso parece que va a condicionar nuevamente la jornada de test.

Hoy, junto a los equipos de MotoGP, Superbike y Supersport, se unen las motos de la categoría de Moto2. Destaca la presencia de Edgar Pons junto a Alex Rins y Luis Salom, pilotos fijos del Mundial en el Pons Racing. 

También las Ducati del Avintia está previsto que bajen a la pista, aunque no utilizarán transponders y no podremos estar al caso de los tiempos que hace esta Ducati con software Dorna.

Third test day at Jerez racetrack. Weather forecast is not good, foggy day and rain expected around 13h. This may cause another tricky test day.

Today, alongside MotoGP, Superbike and Supersport, Moto2 bikes will be testing. Edgar Pons presence, third at FIM-CEV, is the highlight of the day and will be together with regular world championship Pons Racing riders, Luis Salóm and Alex Rins.

Also Avintia Ducati is expected to test from today, unfortunately they without transponders thus their times won’t be informed and the level of this Ducati with Dorna software couldn’t be know .

Tiempos finales – Final timesheet

Finalmente el tiempo marcado a las 15:30h le ha valido a Stefan Bradl para llevarse el mejor tiempo de la jornada. Todos estos equipos pueden usar los compuestos extra blandos, lo que habrá ayudado con toda seguridad a conseguir los tiempos hoy. Quizá el único que no ha trabajado en ese sentido ha sido el veterano Marco Melandri,

También ha habido vueltas rápidas en Superbike, y los neumáticos de clasificación también habrán salido a relucir. Lo que es interesante es ver que las Suzuki vuelven a estar nuevamente delante, esperemos que esta temporada aguanten la presión de la evolución. Hoy, sin embargo, pueden presumir de llevarse los mejores tiempos con De Puniet y Lowes sólo por detrás de Rea.

Moto2 ha sido menos discutido de lo esperado, pero agradable ver a las SpeedUp acercarse a una buena Kalex, la del Páginas Amarillas. Buena evolución de Alex Rins, a tener en cuenta.

Supersport ha visto cómo Leon Camier giraba como compañero de Jules Cluzel con la MV Agusta. Aún con camino por recorrer.

In the end, the time set at 15:30 has been enough to Stefan Bradl to be the fastest man of the day. Every team at the test is able to use the extra soft tyres, so surelly this was a hand in order to set those times. Perhaps the only one who didn’t worked that way has been the veteran Marco Melandri, who is a bit far from the top times.

Also flying laps in Superbike, and qualy tyres helping to achieve better times. What’s interesting is seeing Suzuki again on top, hopefully they will be able to remain there the full season. However today just Rea has been better than De Puniet and Lowes.

Moto2 has been less battled than expected, but good to see the SpeedUp closing up a good Kalex, which is the one of Páginas Amarillas. Good evolution for Alex Rins, to keep an eye on him.

Supersport, finally, has seen how Leon Camier was lapping as Jules Cluzel teammate with the MV Agusta. Long way to run.

Destacable de esta hora ha sido el saltito que han dado en MotoGP la Aprilia de Álvaro Bautista, y en Superbike las Suzuki de Randy de Puniet y Alex Lowes.

Tiempos 16h – Timesheet 15h (circuit time)

Sigue en una línea de trabajo muy buena Stefan Bradl, que ahora sí se acerca mucho al 1:39,007 marcado en la Q2 por Aleix Espargaró. También es apreciable el tiempo de la Ducati de Avintia, que ha mejorado casi 3 décimas en la última hora.

Sykes y Rea van sumando vueltas y experiencia, y parece que va a ser ya difícil que ningún piloto de Superbike pueda plantearse asaltar la primera plaza de las Kawasaki. Quien sí ha mejorado, paso a paso, ha sido Alex Lowes, puesto que el campeón del BSB 2013 se ha puesto muy cerca de las motos verdes.

Tiempos 15h – Timesheet 15h (circuit time)

La Ducati con software Dorna parece que tiene un buen rendimiento, es la única moto capaz de estar por debajo del segundo de diferencia con la Open de Yamaha, también ha mejorado la Aprilia a manos de Bautista.

Kawasaki sigue teniendo el dominio en lo que a Superbike se refiere, y Vd Mark muestra el por qué fue campeón del mundo de Supersport.

The Ducati with Dorna software seems to have a good perfromance, it’s the only one bike with a gap under a second of Open Yamaha. Little improvement from Bautista’s Aprilia.

In Superbike it’s still a Kawasaki predominance, but Vd Mark shows why he has been World Supersport Champion.

Tiempos 14h – Timesheet 14h (circuit time)

Confirman los resultados que la moto que llevó en 2014 Aleix Espargaró es un gran paquete técnico. Los dos pilotos del NGM se han puesto en la cima de la tabla de tiempos demostrando dos cosas, que la moto es buena y que los pilotos tienen la calidad esperada y deseada para la competición. Estos tiempos están dejando en evidencia la necesidad de mejora tanto de Aprilia como de Suzuki con sus tiempos de ayer.

Sykes continúa al mando de las operaciones de los pilotos de Superbike en donde el que está algo más falto de ritmo parece ser el francés Randy de Puniet.

Las Moto2 muestran destacado a un Luis Salóm que parece que esta temporada ya se ha creído que puede hacerlo bien, y Rins está también sorprendiendo lo rápido que aprende y ya está en tiempos de Simón y West.

The results confirms that Aleix Espargaró’s bike of 2014 is a great technical package. Both NGM riders are on top of timesheet evidencing two things, one is that the bike’s good and the other is that riders have the desidered and expected quality for the competition. Their times are showing how far Aprilia and Suzuki are nowadays.

Sykes is still commanding the operations of Superbike riders, where the least strong one seems to be the frenchman Randy de Puniet.

About Moto2 we could see a great Luis Salóm, who seem to believe that could be a good season for him, and Rins also surprises of his quick learnings being on Simón and West times.

Impresionante el rendimiento de la NGM Forward, que en su primer día en pista se pone rápido en los 40’s, siendo la única moto la de Stefan Bradl en bajar del 41. El alemán está un poco lejos del 1:39,007 marcado por Aleix en Mayo.

Baz debe estar trabajando en conocer los frenos y los neumáticos.

Sykes, en el mundo Superbike, se ha rebelado y se ha puesto a liderar la tabla de tiempos con sólo Bradl por delante.

Impressive the NGM Forward behaviour, on its first day gets easy the 40’s, being Bradl’s bike the unique to get that time. The German is a bit far from the 1:39,007 set by Aleix Espargaró in the Q2 of May GP.

Baz should be working on brakes and tyre understanding.

Sykes, in the Superbike world, has revealed himself and is topping the time list of his category, and with just Bradl ahead.

Interesantes los tiempos de Alvaro Bautista que se ha puesto rápidamente en 41’s. En el grupo de Superbikers es interesante ver cómo en todos los test Rea ha sido un duro rival para Sykes, el par de Honda mejora respecto de ayer y Suzuki progresa con mayor lentitud.

Very interesting the fact of being quickly on 41’s on his Aprilia for Bautista. About the Superbiker’s it’s also interesting seeing a strong rival for Sykes in his teammate Rea, behind is the Honda pair improving yesterday’s feeling and Suzuki improving slowlier.
